Your Coverage

Four parts, explained one at a time.

Medicare is built from four pieces. Scroll through each one — the card on the left keeps track of where you are.

A
Part A — Hospital

Your hospital coverage

Part A is the foundation. If you or a spouse paid Medicare taxes for at least 40 quarters, it typically comes with no monthly premium. It handles the big, inpatient side of care.

  • Inpatient hospital stays and semi-private rooms
  • Skilled nursing facility care after a qualifying stay
  • Hospice care and comfort services
  • Limited home health visits ordered by a doctor
B
Part B — Medical

Your everyday medical care

Part B is the day-to-day half of Original Medicare. It carries a standard monthly premium and covers the appointments, tests and equipment most people use throughout the year.

  • Doctor visits, specialists and outpatient surgery
  • Annual wellness visits and preventive screenings
  • Lab tests, X-rays and diagnostic imaging
  • Durable medical equipment such as walkers and oxygen
C
Part C — Advantage

The all-in-one option

Medicare Advantage plans are offered by private carriers approved by Medicare. They bundle your hospital and medical coverage into a single plan — and often add benefits Original Medicare doesn't include.

  • Parts A and B combined in one plan
  • Most plans include prescription drug coverage
  • Extras like dental, vision, hearing and fitness
  • A yearly cap on your out-of-pocket spending
D
Part D — Prescriptions

Help with medication costs

Part D is prescription drug coverage. You can add it to Original Medicare as a standalone plan, or get it built into most Medicare Advantage plans. Each plan has its own list of covered drugs.

  • Brand-name and generic prescription coverage
  • Plan formularies we can check against your medications
  • Pharmacy networks, including mail order options
  • Avoids the late-enrollment penalty when added on time

Real people, real relief.

"I had three envelopes of Medicare mail and no idea where to start. In one conversation my advisor explained all four parts and showed me which plan kept both of my doctors. No pressure at all."

"They checked every one of my prescriptions against the plan's drug list before I signed anything. I'm saving a meaningful amount each month and I actually understand my coverage now."

"What surprised me most was that it didn't end at enrollment. When a claim question came up in March, the same team answered it. That kind of follow-through is rare."

Questions

Common eligibility questions.

Most people become eligible at 65. Your Initial Enrollment Period opens three months before your 65th birthday month and closes three months after it — a seven-month window. You may also qualify earlier through a qualifying disability, End-Stage Renal Disease, or ALS.
Yes. Our eligibility reviews, plan comparisons and enrollment assistance are free to you. We're compensated by the insurance carriers when someone enrolls, and that compensation never increases the premium you pay.
Often, yes. Original Medicare works with any provider that accepts Medicare. Medicare Advantage plans use networks, so we check your specific doctors against each plan's network before you decide — not after.
You may have to wait until the next Annual Enrollment Period, and late enrollment in Part B or Part D can carry a lasting penalty. Certain life events — moving, losing employer coverage, retiring — can open a Special Enrollment Period. We'll tell you whether one applies to you.
It's usually wise. If you go without creditable drug coverage and later need it, a permanent late-enrollment penalty is added to your premium. Many low-cost Part D plans exist specifically for people who take few or no prescriptions today.
Yes. Annual Enrollment runs October 15 to December 7 each year, and Medicare Advantage members get an additional window from January 1 to March 31. We review your plan with you every year to make sure it still fits.
